Who we are

Getituse is a software development company. We design and build custom websites, business applications and AI-powered products for our clients.

For the purposes of data protection law we are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide what is collected and why.

What this site collects

The enquiry form collects the name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, company, project type, budget range, expected timeline and project description that you type into it. Nothing else on this site collects personal data.

There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts on this site, and no third-party embeds. No cookies are set.

One item is stored locally in your own browser: a key named getituse.ribbon.v2, which records that you dismissed the announcement banner so it stays dismissed. It never leaves your device and contains no personal data.

Our hosting provider records standard server logs, which can include your IP address, the pages requested and the time of the request. These are used to keep the site available and secure. We do not combine them with enquiry data or use them to identify individual visitors.

Why we collect it

To read your enquiry and reply to it, to ask any follow-up questions we need in order to understand what you are asking for, and to prepare a proposal if you want one.

To keep a record of our correspondence with you, so that we can refer back to what was discussed.

To keep this website available and protect it from abuse, including the spam checks built into the enquiry form.

We do not use enquiry details for marketing. We do not sell, rent or trade them, and we do not use them to build a profile of you or to make automated decisions about you.

Legal basis for processing

The enquiry form asks you to confirm that you agree to us storing your details in order to reply to you. You do not have to send an enquiry, and there is no other way this site collects your data.

Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on two lawful bases: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, which covers replying to your enquiry and preparing a proposal, and our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries and in keeping this website secure.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not lead to a project, we keep it for up to 24 months from our last contact with you about it, and then delete it. We keep it for that period so that we can pick the conversation up again if you come back to us.

If your enquiry does lead to a project, the details become part of the client record for that project and are kept for as long as the engagement lasts, and afterwards for as long as we are required to keep business records.

Who else sees it

Inside Getituse, enquiries are seen only by the people who need to read them in order to reply.

Outside Getituse we use two service providers, both of which act only on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. Cloudflare hosts this site and runs the endpoint the enquiry form posts to. Resend delivers the resulting email to our inbox.

The enquiry itself is then held in our email account, and is subject to that provider's own terms.

We may disclose information if we are required to by law, by a court or by a regulator. We do not otherwise share enquiry data with anyone.

International transfers

Some of the service providers described above may store or process data outside the country you are in.

Where that happens, we require an appropriate safeguard to be in place before the transfer, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision covering the destination country.

How it is protected

This site is served over HTTPS, so anything you type into the enquiry form is encrypted in transit between your browser and us.

Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it, and accounts that can read them are protected by individual credentials rather than a shared login.

No system is perfectly secure and we do not claim otherwise. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, identity documents or other sensitive information through the enquiry form.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details in the final section. We may need to confirm your identity before we act, so that we do not disclose your data to someone else.

There is no charge for making a request, and we will respond within the period the law allows.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so that we have the chance to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country. Doing so does not affect any other remedy available to you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes or as our service providers change.

The current version is always the one published here, and the date it was last revised is shown at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how we handle enquiry data, we will say so on this page rather than change it silently.
